How to find the Start at Monmouth Rowing Club (NP25 3DP)

From Newport, Cardiff and the South East Wales Valleys: M4 to junction 24 then A449 and A40 to Monmouth. Then through the dual carriageway traffic lights and turn right at first roundabout taking the 3rd exit which will take you to the Monmouth Rowing Club. The roundabout will have both raft race signs and marshals.

From Bristol: M4, M48 to Chepstow. Then north past Chepstow Race Course on the A466, through Tintern, Llandogo, and Redbrook to traffic lights at Monmouth. Turn Right onto the A40 dual carriageway. Proceed to roundabout and turn right taking the 3rd exit which will take you to the Monmouth Rowing Club. The roundabout will have both raft race signs and marshals. (Note there is a weight restriction of 18 Tonnes on the bridge between Llandogo and Redbrook – heavy vehicles need to go via Newport and the A449 / A40 to Monmouth).

From Heads of Valleys: Take the A40 from Abergavenny, past Raglan and onto Monmouth Then through the dual carriageway traffic lights and turn right at first roundabout taking the 3rd exit which will take you to the Monmouth Rowing Club. The roundabout will have both raft race signs and marshals.

From Midlands, Hereford or Gloucester: Via Ross-on-Wye bypass and take the southbound A40 to signed and marshalled left turn at roundabout at Monmouth.

How to find the Finish at Whitebrook (N25 4TT)

From Monmouth: Take the southbound carriageway from the roundabout on the A40 to the traffic lights. Turn left over the bridge at the lights and then bear right along A466 towards Chepstow. Approximately 7 miles later, after passing through Redbrook, turn off hard right after crossing the River Wye at Bigsweir Bridge and follow the signs for Whitebrook and our raft race site. (Note that there is a weight restriction of 18 Tonnes on Bigsweir bridge – heavy vehicles need to go from Monmouth to join the M4 at Newport and go via Chepstow).

From Heads of the Valleys: Take the A40 from Abergavenny, past Raglan and onto Monmouth. Go through the traffic lights and onto the roundabout. Then follow the above instructions from Monmouth.

From Midlands, Hereford or Gloucester: Via Ross-on-Wye bypass and take the southbound A40 to the roundabout at Monmouth. Then follow the above instructions from Monmouth.
